Do you know what is Attar

The English words ‘otto’ and attar are transliterations of the original Arabic word ‘itr’. We use the term ‘Attar’ because both the manufacture and application of oils that we supply belongs to this East Indian and Persian tradition. We also sometimes use the word perfume, because we know that most of our customers primarily use our oils for the same purpose as Western perfumes

Attar perfume oils are a specific type of fragrance product derived from natural plant substances, both single ones, and those blended together carefully to produce remarkably rich scents. Although some attars are simply individual oils, which on their own are suitable for fragrance use, such as Amber, Sandalwood or Patchouli, they are usually composed of careful blends of various oils, resins and concretes—two or more—placed in a natural base or carrier oil.

The beauty of using attar oils is that by wearing them you create an aura of tranquility, confidence and mystery around yourself. Because attars contain no alcohol, the scent “clings” within one or two feet of your body, in the “zone of intimacy.”

Jannat al-Ferdous, Sherif, Medina Musk and others are scents of unparalleled clarity, richness and elegance. But these, like Arabian Wild Rose and Tunisian Jasmine, have been artfully blended, starting with the named essential as a base, they adding and adjusting other natural oils to produce a fragrance which is beautiful, affordable and safe.

natural perfumes are either individual essential oils which smell beautiful in their own right—such as Sandalwood, Amber and Myrrh—or blends which have been produced by firms in the Middle and Near East with many generations of their families guarding the secrets of the blends.

Attars are classified not only by their content but also according to the time of the year in which they are to be used. In winter are recommended the warm fragrances like ‘hina’ made from musk and saffron. Spring is for happy, flowery fragrances like rose, jasmine, bela, molsari, etc. For summers, an all time favorite is khas. And hold your breath, for monsoons the specialty is ‘mitti’ or literally soil, which reminds one of cool showers falling on the earth.
